Abstract

IT Security has become very important today for the recent and constant security breaches in large companies along their media impact. Due to the continuous filtration of data in the world of information that we live nowadays, and the apparent general lack of awareness on this issue in general, I wanted to make of this Final Grade Project a project with the objective of expanding my training in computer security and applying what I learned to the University of Barcelona’s infrastructure. With this project, I want to highlight the importance of IT Security so that it would be taken into account at the Decree of Computer Engineering from University of Barcelona teaching and raise the possibility of creating a new subject in order to complement the current student training. Likewise, I believe that, in today’s world, this subject is of vital importance to any IT expert, especially developers, to be aware of the continuous danger that any IT system has, and thus be able to contribute their grain of sand to a more secure computing world. At the end of the day, if IT experts don’t contribute to IT security, who will?
