Precariat, dones i patriarcat. Revisió crítica del nou concepte des d’una perspectiva de gènere

Abstract

(cat) La publicació del dos llibres de Guy Standing (2011, 2014) sobre el precariat ha tingut un impacte acadèmic i polític significatiu. L’autor pretenia actualitzar les conceptualitzacions amb què les ciències social analitzen l’estructura de classes de les societats contemporànies. Per a Standing, el canvis globals ocorreguts a l’economia capitalista des de la dècada dels 80 van gestar aquesta nova classe social en formació, amb conseqüències sobre el treball, les migracions i les polítiques públiques, entre d’altres. Aquests canvis han afectat a la pròpia idea de llibertat política. En el present treball ens proposem fer una anàlisi crítica de la teoria del precariat presentant-la com un problema que també ha de ser abordat a través de perspectives de gènere i feministes que pretenen fer recerca sociològica i política sobre el capitalisme contemporani. Mitjançant una revisió bibliogràfica, avaluarem la capacitat explicativa de la teoria de Standing dels problemes actuals relacionats amb les desigualtats per raó de gènere.

(eng) The appearance of the two books by Guy Standing (2011, 2014) on precariat has caused a significant academic and political impact. The author sought to update the conceptualizations with which the social sciences examine the class structure of contemporary societies. For Standing, global changes in the capitalist economy since the 1980s spawned this new social class in formation with consequences on labor, migration, and public policy, among others. These changes also affect the very idea of political freedom. In this work we critically take his theory of precariat as a problem to be addressed from gender and feminist perspectives that seek to pursue both sociological and political inquiry on contemporary capitalism. Through a literature review, we evaluate the explanatory ability of Standing’s theory to explain the current problems related to gender inequalities
