Abstract: [spa] El Apoyo Vocal en el Canto Lírico Solista: Aspectos Históricos, Definición, Dilemas, Esclarecimientos y Redefinición del Término.
[eng] Vocal Support in Lyrical Singing Solo: Historical Aspects, Definition, Dilemmas, Clarifications and Redefinition of the Term. A Study Associated to the Interpretation and its Acquisition, it proposes to identify the characteristics of the term "support" for the voice sung, its meaning and repercussion in the technique and vocal pedagogy. In the review of the literature, we identified its delimitation, use of the term among singing masters, singers and specialists in the medical field and ways to explain its mechanism. We problematize about the so-called respiratory support and support of sound, two aspects of the same phenomenon: to produce the voice sung with the qualitative demands established by the lyrical song tradition. Because of its characteristics, the study and acquisition of support requires an interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of the voice, anatomy and physiology, musical acoustics and music as a whole. We defend that the support of the voice sung is a phenomenon one and only of the breathing and the emission for the resonance and projection of the voice for the lyrical song. In a second moment, we looked for new data from questionnaires answered by singers-singers, professional lyric singers and singers in formation, and two interviews with a soprano who also contributed in the analysis of the support in the realization of sentences of two Italian arias, one by Rossini and the other by Puccini. The study of the subject in its two moments contemplated bibliographical and qualitative research. For the interpretation of the data we base ourselves on the proposal of Bardin and Minayo on the analysis of the content as objective and systematic procedures of the description of the data obtained. We proposed thematic categories and subcategories of analysis associated with support, breathing, emission, dynamics, homogeneity, interpretation, performance and singing pedagogy. The results obtained showed the importance of joining both mechanisms (respiratory and sound), without emphasizing one or the other, before and during the performance of exercises, study and interpretation of the repertoire. We are looking for another terminology to explain its operation, acquisition and mastery by talking with the different proposals and proposing another way of identifying it: Sound support of the singing voice.
