Abstract: [en] The Illumination Problem asks whether every region is illuminable from every point in the region and whether every region is illuminable from at least one point in the region. We will analise this problem and the proposed solutions. We will focuse on Roger Penrose’s solution, which uses the properties of the choniques. We will also study the physics needed to understand the situation and its limitations in the real world. We will develope a series of activities, set on this context, suitable for Secondary level, which allow to work units from the inforce Catalonia’s Curriculum and, simultaneously, show the lively nature of mathematics. This problem, which has progressed in the last few years, is capable of opening the door of creativity, curiosity, simulation, experimentation and emotion to the students.
