Abstract: | [en] In this report I detail the study carried out on the design and implementation of a type of Business Intelligence solution in the “Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science” of the University of Barcelona. The objective is to put into practice my theoretical knowledge and present the advantages that would be obtained if a project of this type will be carried out in which the participation of the entire organization is required and with the use of technology as a base. For this particular situation, it has been considered as a Business Intelligence solution to design several dashboards as an ideal data exploitation solution with the aim of illustrating the main areas of business interest, through KPIs, comparative data, resources graphics, etc... This is to support the "decision making" in the line of providing knowledge to the users of the organization with which they can make better decisions and generate added value in all its areas, as a result of the democratization of information . It seemed the best fit to separate the work into 4 phases. In the first phase of analysis, it was found the usual dispersion of information in various sources. A lack of specific and analytical tools, meant until now analytics were only done on demand and manually, so that the need for the design of a new technological architecture was determined. Incorporated will be the following new components: Data warehouse: It gathers the data of the organization. It is an integrated data collection, which contains all the data of the operational systems. This information is neither modified nor eliminated. • Data preparation, integration and cleaning Tool: For the extraction, transformation and loading of the data of different sources into the Data warehouse. Front-End tool or visualization: Allows the creation of the corecard showing the different KPIs marked by the organization via an interactive navigation through the data for its analysis. Collaboration platform: For the publication and sharing of scorecards between users of the organization. Once the new components in the architecture were identified, the analysis was made which specific technological tools would be chosen. In the second phase all the relevant processes are detailed. The third phase is the execution of all the processes explained in the second phase. The fourth and final phase is the presentation of the final product.
