dc.description.abstract[eng] The present investigation has as objective to characterize the manifestations of the Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) of Chilean teachers of Primary Education. This concept was initially developed in the research program "Knowledge Growth in a Profession: development of knowledge in teaching", promoted by Lee Shulman and his collaborators from the Stanford University and refers to the teacher's ability to transform disciplinary knowledge into structures pedagogically accessible or comprehensible for the student, being a systemic and multidimensional construct that integrates the disciplinary, pedagogical and experiential knowledge of the teacher. It is a case study focused on a phenomenological-hermeneutic view, since it seeks to characterize the PCK's manifestations from non-participant observations of the classroom practices of the professors and their interpretations obtained through in-depth interviews. The analysis of the data is inspired by the inductive method of constant comparisons. The results are grouped into two metacategories: strategies to identify/explain errors and learning difficulties of the students, where the formative evaluation is, the didactic use of the question and the didactic use of the error; and strategies to help students overcome their learning difficulties, where they are related to prior knowledge and everyday, the explanation of reasoning and collaborative work. The work concludes that the PCK of these professors is manifested mainly in mechanisms, strategies or resources that allow to identify and overcome the learning difficulties that the students present during the teaching, being the formative assessment a key manifestation of the PCK, that is always present in their classes to deliver relevant information about teaching, learning and its improvement. Likewise, the affective/emotional is relevant for the construction and development of the PCK as pedagogical reasoning, since it allows a deep knowledge of the students and their learning process, specifically, a teacher- student relationship based on respect and trust, allows to know the teacher the learning difficulties and to have access to their life history, their successes and school failures, recognitions, aspirations, conceptions and feelings; information that the teacher considers relevant when planning, developing and evaluating teaching, particularly related to the mechanisms, strategies or didactic resources used to make the subject comprehensible.-
