Uso de marcadores discursivos en el discurso académico oral y escrito de estudiantes universitarios costarricenses

Abstract

[spa] Este trabajo de investigación trata sobre el uso de los marcadores discursivos, de la estructura de la argumentación y la relación entre ambos recursos en el discurso académico de ingresantes universitarios costarricenses. Para el análisis de los marcadores discursivos, la muestra se compone de 72 hablantes nativos del español, no obstante, para los análisis restantes se opta por una submuestra de 36 hablantes nativos. A los participantes se les solicitó la producción de una argumentación analítica monológica oral y escrita sobre el tema ¿Es la educación superior un medio para promover la igualdad social? Una vez obtenidos los 144 textos, 72 orales y 72 escritos, se transcriben, se segmentan en cláusulas y se codifican las funciones de los marcadores discursivos según su adecuación a un contexto de uso específico y a su concordancia con las funciones descritas en la clasificación de referencia. Por otra parte, los 72 textos, 36 orales y 36 escritos, se segmentan en movimientos argumentativos y no argumentativos –movimientos retóricos– y se codifica tanto la tipología de los movimientos como las relaciones establecidas entre los movimientos argumentativos y la pregunta generadora o el movimiento argumentativo global y, por otra, se examinan las aperturas de los movimientos argumentativos y no argumentativos para identificar en ellas marcadores discursivos. Sobre el uso de los marcadores discursivos, los resultados arrojaron un empleo predominantemente canónico por forma y función; no obstante, entre los marcadores discursivos no canónicos destacan los marcadores discursivos no canónicos por modalidad de producción en la modalidad de producción escrita y los marcadores discursivos no canónicos por género discursivo en la modalidad de producción oral. Asimismo, los resultados arrojaron que los marcadores discursivos son indicadores de la diferenciación entre modalidades de producción. Sobre el uso de la estructura de la argumentación los principales resultados no arrojaron diferencias significativas para la distribución del movimiento no argumentativo y de los distintos tipos de movimientos argumentativos entre modalidades de producción, salvo para el movimiento argumentativo equilibrado que es significativamente más frecuente en la modalidad de producción oral. Sobre la relación entre la estructura de la argumentación y los marcadores discursivos los principales resultados arrojaron que los marcadores discursivos suelen aparecer en las aperturas de los movimientos retóricos escritos y orales, sin embargo, dicha aparición es más frecuente en las aperturas de los movimientos retóricos orales.

[eng] This research paper deals with the use of discursive markers, the structure of argumentation and the relationship between both resources in the academic discourse of Costa Rican university admitted students. For the analysis of discursive markers, the sample comprises 72 Spanish native speakers; however, for the remaining analysis a subsample of 36 native speakers is used. Participants were asked to prepare an oral and a written analytical monologue argument on the topic Is higher education a means to promote social equality? Once the 144 texts, 72 oral and 72 written, are obtained, they were transcribed, segmented into clauses and the functions of the discursive markers are codified according to their suitability for a specific context of use and their concordance with the functions described in the reference classification. On the other hand, the 72 texts, 36 oral and 36 written, were segmented into argumentative and non-argumentative productions –rhetorical representation– and codified according to both the typology of the production and the relationships established between the argumentative representations and the question presented or the global argumentative representation. Also, characteristics of the argumentative and non-argumentative productions are examined to identify discursive markers. Regarding the use of discursive markers, the results showed a predominantly canonical use by form and function; however, non-canonical discursive markers by type of production in the written representations and non-canonical discursive markers by discursive genre in the oral representations. Likewise, the results showed that discursive markers are indicators for the differentiation between types of production. Regarding the use of the structure of argumentation, the main results showed that the distribution of the non- argumentative movement and of the different types of argumentative movements is similar in both modes of production and between modes of production, except for the balanced argumentative movement that is more used in the oral production mode. On the relationship between the structure of argumentation and discursive markers the main results showed that discursive markers usually appear in the presentation of written and oral rhetorical movements, however, such appearance is more forceful in the presentation of oral rhetorical movements.
