| ca |
dc.description.abstract | [eng] Facing the difficulty of locating with total security the original burials of the first four kings of the Ancient Egypt’s 18th Dynasty, in this paper we dive into the analysis both documental and archaeological of the remains and the different theories proposed by multiple investigators around this topic. It is known that the mummies of Ahmose I, Amenhotep I, Tuthmosis I and Tuthmosis II were moved at the beginning of Ramses IX reign (early 21st Dynasty) to the later known as the “royal cache” (DB 320) in Deir el-Bahari, in order to avoid (or minimise) the negative outcomes derived from tomb-looting. However, the original place of burial hasn’t survived in the registers, so we currently have imprecise and equivocal references, but we are certain of the importance of the cemeteries of Dra Abu el-Naga, Deir el-Bahari and the Valley of the Kings. We will try to shed some light into this matter, through the re-study of the archaeological data available and we will try to direct future lines and projects of investigation. | - |
