Análisis del bloqueo directo en baloncesto de alto nivel

[spa] El presente estudio tiene por objetivo caracterizar las acciones del bloqueo directo, y su eficacia, en el juego del baloncesto en un equipo de Ia primera división Liga ACB (España). Se analizaron 18 equipos en Ia temporada 2010-2011 en 34 partidos de la fase regular. En todos los partidos participó un mismo equipo (Unicaja Malaga) frente a 17 rivales distintos. Se compararon los registros obtenidos por los dos entrenadores que dirigieron el club durante Ia temporada. Se utilizó un diseño de observación directa nomotético, puntual y multidimensional. Un instrumento observacional (VTP&R) fue construido ad hoc, y validado por un panel de 20 expertos de alto nivel. El instrumento fue concebido para analizar el juego ofensivo y defensivo del baloncesto centrado en las acciones del pick and roll y su influencia en la eficacia del juego, de acuerdo a distintos criterios, como las acciones de los jugadores, posición en el campo, zona donde se realiza el bloqueo, tiempo de juego o situación en el marcador. Se comprobó Ia fiabilidad intra e interobservacional de los investigadores. Un análisis de coordenadas polares de los registros de juego y las respuestas a entrevistas en profundidad a entrenadores implicados en los equipos estudiados durante esa temporada, complementaron Ia estadística descriptiva del estudio. Del total de acciones analizadas (n=8267), el 26.9% se corresponden a bloqueo directo (n=2224). Solo el 21.7% de las acciones de pick and roll se han mostrado eficaces en el marcador, mientras que el 87.7% lo son tácticamente. La posibilidad de determinar que acciones se realizan en cada momenta del partido y de que manera se ejecutan, así como establecer patrones de respuesta táctica en función de los distintos factores que intervienen en el juego, justifica Ia utilidad de los resultados aquí obtenidos y se concluye el interés en incorporar las distintas técnicas de análisis de Ia metodología observacional a los procesos de preparación táctica en los equipos de baloncesto.

[eng] The goal of this study is to analyse pick & roll actions and their effectiveness for basketball teams in the ACB league (1st division Spain). We scrutinized the 34 games played by Unicaja Malaga during the 2010-11 season against 17 different opponents. The results achieved by the two different coaches during that season were compared with each other. For the study we used a multidimensional, punctual and nomothetic observational design. An observational instrument (VTP&R) was built ad hoc and validated by a panel of 20 senior experts. This instrument was conceived to analyse offensive and defensive basketball situations around pick & roll actions and their influence on the effectiveness of the game according to different criteria such as player actions, position on the court, area where the screen is set, game time or score situation. The intra and interobservational reliability of the researchers was thoroughly checked. An analysis of the polar coordinate of the game records and a series of in-depth interviews with the coaches of the participating teams completed the descriptive statistic of the study. From the total actions analysed (n=8267), 26.9% corresponded to a pick & roll situation. Only 21.7% of these pick & roll actions led to a score while 87.7% could be considered tactically successful. The interpretation of the results shows the importance of completing basketball game analysis through mixed methods. The ability to determine which actions are to be performed at any given moment of the game and how to execute and establish tactical response patterns depending on the various factors involved in the game, proves the usefulness of the results obtained here and clearly illustrates the importance of incorporating different analytical techniques of observational methodology to the analytical processes of basketball.
