Abstract: [en] Nowadays, there are many studies that relate mathematics to music. The use of mathematics to compose music or the use of musical elements to better understand mathematics are some of the examples of connections between both subjects. More specifically, it exists and I’m going to show the relationship between the continued fractions and the music; continuous fractions can be used to understand why the normally used musical scale contains 12 musical notes. This work was born from the intention of being able to explain mathematics in a different, innovative, and not as it’s generally explained in a high school classroom. The results obtained after the activity show the little knowledge that exists between both subjects and the students’ desire to carry out more playful and interconnected activities between different areas of knowledge.
