De la congregación ciudadana al distanciamiento social roles y estrategias de museos y centros culturales de Santiago de Chile en el contexto de crisis social y sanitaria

Abstract

[esp]La situación para los museos y centros culturales en Chile ha sido compleja desde octubre de 2019, cuando ocurre el Estallido Social, y posteriormente, en marzo de 2020, se suma la pandemia por coronavirus, complejizando aún más el normal funcionamiento de las instituciones culturales dentro de un contexto social, cultural político y sanitario particular. En función de lo anterior, las instituciones llevan a cabo grandes procesos de adaptación e innovación para continuar desarrollando su labor con sus comunidades y públicos. En este trabajo, se analizan las acciones, estrategias y roles de algunos museos y un centro cultural de Santiago de Chile, durante el periodo de crisis social y sanitaria, considerando factores tanto externos como internos a las instituciones. Los principales resultados de esta investigación son: una reacción heterogénea en la forma en que las instituciones culturales enfrentan la crisis social, donde algunas de ellas incluyen el contexto de protestas y demandas ciudadanas en su labor cultural, mientras otras adoptan una postura de neutralidad. Una vez que se suma la pandemia, también se observa una reacción heterogénea en relación a cómo las instituciones abordan el contexto social, y principalmente el Proceso Constituyente, sin embargo, se observa una mayor homogeneidad en lo que respecta a las labores, acciones y estrategias de las instituciones culturales realizadas en torno a la pandemia de coronavirus.

[eng] The situation for museums and cultural centers in Chile has been complex since October 2019, when the Social Outbreak occurred, and later, in March 2020, the coronavirus pandemic was added, further complicating the normal functioning of cultural institutions within of a particular social, cultural, political and health context. Based on the above, the institutions carry out major adaptation and innovation processes to continue developing their work with their communities and publics. In this research, the actions, strategies and roles of some museums and a cultural center in Santiago de Chile are analyzed, during the period of social and health crisis, considering factors both external and internal to the institutions. The main results of this research are: a heterogeneous reaction in the way in which cultural institutions face the social crisis, where some of them include the context of protests and citizen demands in their cultural work, while others institutions adopt a neutral position. Once the pandemic is added, a heterogeneous reaction is also observed in relation to how the institutions approach the social context, and mainly the Constituent Process, however, a greater homogeneity is observed in what respects the work, actions and strategies of the cultural institutions carried out around the coronavirus pandemic.
