[cat] El present treball té la intenció de sintetitzar tot el coneixement establert fins l’actualitat sobre els primers anys del cinema a Barcelona, de 1896 a 1923, fent incisió en l’exhibició de la indústria i la funció social dins de la societat catalana de començament del segle XX.

[eng] The present work has the intention to synthetize all the current known knowledge regarding the very first years of the cinema in Barcelona, from 1896 to 1923, focusing on the exhibition part of the industry and its social role in the context of the Catalan society at the beginning of the twentieth century.
