Abstract: This paper explores the impact of inflationary crises during “impressionable years” on the development of patience. Analysing economic and psychological data, results indicate that individuals exposed to inflation during this formative period exhibit distinct patience patterns, although small coefficients are observed. Financial literacy and coping mechanisms emerge as mediators, offering avenues for resilience-building. Cultural and regional factors play a role, suggesting avenues for further research. In conclusion, this study sheds light on the intricate link between economic instability and economic preferences, such as patience.
