Abstract: Every day more research in the field of cognitive neuroscience study is focused on subcortical brain structures associated with certain mental disorders, such as the caudate nucleus, which has been associated with Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). These studies are based on the segmentation of these structures in magnetic resonance imaging for subsequent analysis and diagnostic support. This work has automatically created a computing environment for this kind of segmentation. The aim is to provide a tool to facilitate the work of physicians and, at the same time, it can be used in the development of new research in order to continue to improve the segmentation result. For the development of this project we have used computer vision methods, we allow the extraction of information from magnetic resonance imaging necessary to segment.
