dc.description.abstract[eng] This thesis draws the conclusions from Augustine's reflection on Genesis. From an analysis of his repeated attempts to comment on the story of creation through a literal, allegorical and spiritual interpretation, this study emphasizes the fact that Augustine develops an original metaphysical scheme which presents beings in their existential evolution. This scheme also provides a valid key to read Augustine’s own understanding of the finite being. Such a scheme is: creatio, conversio, formatio. Taking this triad as the core of the picture, there is a progressive deepening of the stages of the phenomenon and the pursuit of its ultimate foundation which, as it follows from the same Augustinian works, turns out in love, which becomes the thread that gives meaning to the very articulation of the stages and of the resolution of the process within the framework of free agents. With this approach, the thesis is properly located at the crossroads reached by the current Augustinian studies: first, it had begun to reflect on the phenomenon of creatio, conversio and formatio but it was convenient to make this scheme more explicit in order to more clearly show its presence in the corpus Augustinianum, enriching its understanding with the contribution of the images with which Augustine thinks and transmits his own construct and fitting it consistently in the little-studied ontological dimensions of modus, species and ordo. All this aims, on the other hand, to link the said scheme with the results of the comments on the Augustine’s concept of love. Thus identifying the analog category of ordo with love, with its specific weight that sets primarily the trend of the spiritual creatures but also of the rest of creation, which thus returns to its origin and attains peace, understood as "tranquility of order" and, as such, as a stilling loving break. Augustine himself, in De Genesi ad litteram and in many other parts of the corpus, provides the necessary elements for this task: deepening in the metaphysical scheme creatio, conversio, formatio, and basing it on the pondus amoris, with which a metaphysics of creatureliness is built allowing a more clear envisioning of what kind of being a creature is and also of who its Maker is.-
