Abstract: This paper characterizes a landslide that occurred the 5th of May 2013 in the village of La Riba (Tarragona). Following the landslide some controlled blastings were done due to stabilize the slope. This study applied techniques of photogrammetry and LiDAR data. The objective of this study is to compare the results obtained to explain the advantages and limitations of each technique. To characterize the landslide have been done two photogrammetric models and two LiDAR data models, corresponding to the pre and post blast. With these dataset have been obtained 4 points clouds, and the same processing has been done to both of them, with two main objectives: The first one, is to identify and characterize the discontinuity families, and the second objective is to calculate the volumes of material involved in the blast. For the volume calculation have been used two different methods: the construction of simplified surfaces enclosing volumes obtained with simplified models at pre and post blast (software Gocad (Paradigm - www.pdgm.com)) and comparison of models before and after blasting (software PolyWorks (InnovMetric - www.innovmetric.com)). Finally, the results are compared to determine and justify the differences obtained and identify the limitations and advantages of each technique.
