El Fondo: un barri amb diversitat de cultures i plantes. Primera prospecció sobre plantes alimentàries

[cat] El Fondo és un barri de Santa Coloma de Gramenet que compta amb un nombre i una diversitat elevats d’immigrants, sobretot de procedència xinesa. Moltes botigues del barri són petits locals on es venen aliments de diferents orígens i també es duu a terme una interacció social entre cultures. Aquest treball estudia principalment els aliments que es troben en aquestes botigues i en concret es centra en les plantes, que són molt abundants en l’alimentació xinesa i que també són utilitzades com teràpia, ja que disposen de propietats importants tant nutricionals com medicinals. L’estudi es duu a terme a partir de diverses visites al barri del Fondo, on es realitza una sèrie d’inventaris bàsicament de plantes, però també d’algues i fongs. En aquestes visites s’intenta interaccionar i conversar amb botiguers i persones que es troben comprant productes i, posteriorment, es duu a terme l’estudi bibliogràfic de les plantes trobades pel que fa a les característiques vitamíniques i a les medicinals. Sobretot s’intenta demostrar que l’alimentació és un concepte que va lligat a la cultura i que, en el cas de la cultura xinesa, també és un remei per la prevenció i el tractament de moltes malalties. Una de les finalitats del treball, doncs, és difondre una mica la importància que té l’alimentació a altres cultures i ajudar que tothom ho pugui saber, col·laborant amb Fondo Comerç a fer més fàcil aquesta difusió del saber.

[eng] El Fondo is a district of Santa Coloma de Gramenet with a high number and diversity of immigrants, mostly of Chinese origin. Neighbourhood shops are numerous that sell local foods from different backgrounds, and, in these places, a social interaction is carried out between cultures. This project studies mainly food plants found in these stores and specifically focuses on plants that are abundant in Chinese food, and are are also used as therapy, since they have important properties as nutritional medicine. The study was carried out by several visits to El Fondo neighbourhood where we performed a series of inventories mainly of plants, but also of algae and fungi. In the visits we tried to interact and converse with traders and people who were buying foods. After this, we performed a bibliographical study of the vitaminic and the medicinal characteristics of the plants recorded. We specifically tried to show that food is a concept that is linked to culture and, in the case of Chinese culture, it is also a remedy for the prevention and treatment of many diseases. One of the aims of the work is to spread a bit the importance of food to other cultures and to help everybody to know this, working with Fondo Comerç to make easier this dissemination of knowledge.
