This article aims to introduce the reader to the territory of cultural psychology, approaching it not so much via a presentation of its products but via the theoretical and epistemologic proposals which have favoured or hindered its development. This option allows us, first of all, to understand the reasons for the delay in its consolidation, in a review that will take us up to the last decade of the twentieth century. It will then allow us to consider the theoretical approaches available today to cultural psychology, with a particular focus on the socioconstructionist approach. Finally, we define the limits of current cultural psychology, and suggestpossible fiture developments.-
