Llengua i Escola: representacions i usos lingüístics a partir del model de conjunció en català

Abstract

[cat] El model de conjunció en català, introduït al sistema escolar de Catalunya l’any 1978, té dos objectius principals: la bilingüització de la totalitat de la població escolar i la promoció de l’ús de la llengua pròpia i tradicionalment minoritzada. La finalitat d’aquest treball és conèixer com incideix el model de conjunció en català en les representacions i usos lingüístics així com les dinàmiques sociolingüístiques que es generen entre els joves en edat escolar. Els resultats indiquen que el model educatiu permet el manteniment del català entre els seus parlants nadius i estableix generalment el català com a llengua de relació habitual entre l’alumnat dins l’escola, sigui quina sigui la seva llengua familiar. Tot i així, fora de l’àmbit educatiu el castellà continua predominant i un dels factors que ho fomenta són els hàbits d’ús, que acaben afavorint el castellà tot i l’augment de la competència escolar en català.

[eng] The model of conjunction in catalan, first introduced in the catalan educational system in 1978, has two main purposes: the bilingualization of the entire school population and the promotion of the own language and traditionally minorized. The aim of this paper is to know the incidence of the catalan model conjunction in the representations and linguistic uses, as well as, the sociolinguistic dynamics generated among schoolchildren. The results point out that the educational system permits the maintenance of the catalan language among its native speakers and establishes the catalan as the language of common use among the pupils, regardless of their home language. However, outside the educational system, spanish is still predominant. One of the factors that foments this reality is hàbits of usage, which end up favouring spanish, despite the increased educational competences in catalan.
