| Abstract: | A concise synthesis of the marine alkaloids ()-lepadins A-C from a phenylglycinol-derived tricyclic lactam is reported. Key steps from the stereochemical standpoint involve stereoselective cyclocondensation, double bond hydrogenation, oxazolidine opening, hydroboration- oxidation, and Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reactions. |
