Abstract

Honour member of the ICHN, 2016, Salvador Filella Cornadó (Barcelona 1943) This year, the Catalan naturalist Salvador Filella Cornadó has been honoured as the ICHN's Honorary Member. The presentation of his personal and public history was glossed by Dr. Xavier Ferrer on June 29, 2016. S. Filella was a taxidermist who worked at the Museum of Zoology of Barcelona and Barcelona Zoo, had a strong influence on the naturalistic world and the management of Spanish nature between 1972 and 1987. Its main merits are inscribed in the disciplines of Ornithology, Cetology, and Conservation of natural heritage (as promoter, soul and manager of the NGO DEPANA in its first 11 years of life). He promoted much citizen science in the domain of the vertebrate fauna especially birds.
