Abstract

[spa] Ellas habitan en mí. Retrato de cuatro generaciones responde a un empeño personal de indagar acerca de cómo puede la herencia familiar generar tensiones en el proceso de construcción de la propia identidad. Especialmente ante el reto de construirnos libremente mientras cargamos con la responsabilidad de conservar en nosotros el legado moral recibido de nuestros antecesores. El foco de este proyecto se basa en el análisis de la genealogía familiar como herramienta de autoconocimiento, intentando mantener un equilibrio entre la visión personal e intimista propia de un trabajo autobiográfico, y un posicionamiento crítico y objetivo ante los datos consultados. El tiempo es un elemento omnipresente durante todo el desarrollo de este Trabajo de Final de Grado (TFG). Así mismo, a nivel teórico y procesual, se le otorga una especial atención a las propuestas contemporáneas que relacionan el arte con el archivo o el documento, constituyéndose como una estrategia adecuada para el enfoque analítico de mi genealogía familiar. A través del dibujo, el collage, la fotografía y aquellos documentos conservados por mi familia, tales inquietudes se traducen en cuatro retratos-relatos biográficos de carácter instalativo conformando, al mismo tiempo, una única pieza. La unión del retrato de mi bisabuela, mi abuela, mi madre y el mío, constituye una representación diacrónica de cuatro generaciones y del legado material e inmaterial que ha llegado a nuestros días y que en mí habita.

A portrait of four generations responds to a personal determination of investigating about how family heritage can create tensions during the construction of identity itself, especially when we face the challenge of forming ourselves freely while we carry the responsibility of preserving the moral legacy received from our predecessors. This project is focused on the analysis of family genealogy as a selfknowledge tool, trying to keep a balance between the personal and the intimate vision of a typical autobiographical work, and a critical and objective positioning of the data consulted. Time has been an omnipresent element during the development of this Final Degree Project (TFG). Moreover, on a theoretical and processual level, it is given a special attention to contemporary proposals, which relate art to archive or files, hence becoming an appropriate strategy for an analytic approach of my familiar genealogy. By using different techniques like drawing, collage, photography and files preserved by my family, these concerns are translated into a four biographical portraits-stories as installations, making up at the same time a single piece. The union of portraits of my greatgrandmother, my grandmother, my mother and mine conform a diachronic representation of four generations and their material and immaterial legacy which has reached to these days and which dwells in me.
