dc.description.abstract | [eng] This paper aims to study the figure of Wendy Darling in relation to gender portrayals and femininity, by means of an extensive analysis on J.M. Barrie’s 1904 play Peter Pan; or the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up. This study will contrast the original play with three filmic adaptations, taking into account matters of intertextuality and various theories on adaptation. From a 21st century perspective but acknowledging the social and historical context of the four texts, this work will consider the portrayal of female characters in the stories of Peter Pan, focusing on the importance to motherhood, and establishing Wendy as the central character around whom this study revolves. | ca |
Barrie, Peter Pan; or the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up. | ca |
