dc.description.abstractPhotovoltaic systems have become in a promising source of green energy, which it aspires to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote the use of renewables energies. In this work, a self-consumption photovoltaic installation was sized for a pharmaceutical industry located in Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona). The system has been designed with 450 monocrystalline photovoltaic modules, each one with a nominal power of 335Wp from Exiom Solution S.A brand. The layout of the modules has been distributed in an array of 25 strings connected in parallel, each string with 18 modules in a serial connection. Altogether, the installation has 5 inverters Sunny Tripower 25000TL-30 from SMA brand. The power in DC was estimated at 150.75 kWp and in AC at 125 kW with a DC/AC ratio of 1.21. The photovoltaic solar technology will be installed on canopies covering 60 parking lots with an area of 750 m2. In order to encourage the use of the electric car, the installation has been designed with 12 charging points for the electric car. Canopies, control, and security elements were chosen from Circutor brand. Finally, it has been estimated that the system will produce 231.5MWh of electricity at year with an initial investment of 183.010.00 € and a net profit of 365.254.08 € over a period of 25 years, which it ratifies the project’s viability and profitability.ca
