Abstract: The in-depth knowledge of electromagnetic (EM) fields allows us to use them as a tool in experimental geophysical techniques and one point of departure in constructing computer-based models. In this work, an analysis of EM fields in the presence of a metal casing well is introduced. Different 3-D Controlled-source (CSEM) simulations are carried out to investigate the impact of main transmitter parameters on the EM responses. More concretely, the transmitter location, orientation, and the number of electrodes are studied. We verify our numerical results by comparing them against experimental data. To perform 3-D CSEM simulations, we have used the PETGEM code
