dc.description.abstract | [en] This computer engineering final degree project wants to focus on the field of serious games, which are video games focused, instead of fun, in learning, therapy, and other fields. The objective is to create a serious game of stimulation for children with Down syndrome. Children with this disability need more stimulation and attention than the other, because they haven’t too much initiative and often take longer to learn and assimilate concepts and skills. The video game enhances most skills and try to improve them as much as possible, from fine motor skills, language, memory, attention, autonomy, and other skills like logic, math, recognizing sounds, and others. The game will be for tablet with Android operating system, because the kids used to play with tablets, and it is easier for them to touch in a screen than a console or a computer. Many games with this topic are focused in improve one single skill, like memory or language, but the objective is unify everything in a single video game with several possible skills to stimulate, and different difficult levels as the child needs, and the person that supervise him could choose when the difficult is increased, according to the child characteristics and evolution in the game. Furthermore, the game must be entertaining, fun, visually beautiful, intuitive and eye-catching for the child. In addition, will be done tests with real kids with Down syndrome and the adults who supervise them, in order to see what things can be improved, and if children are having fun playing, and they understand the game, and if it meets it purpose. | ca |
