This work’s main goal is to study the classical methods of orbit determination developed by Gauss and Laplace. To do so, simulations of objects orbiting the Earth have been programmed to test these methods and compare the results. They show poor accuracy and don’t allow for predictions in the studied cases, but they improve for large enough orbits where they could be a first approach for more complex orbit determination schemesca
