Naixement, vida i mort del call de Tàrrega: la comunitat jueva targarina entre els segles XIII i XV

[spa] Durant la baixa edat mitjana, a Catalunya els jueus constituïen un col·lectiu religiós minoritari però amb un pes molt important en sectors com l’econòmic. Malgrat la seva rellevància, els jueus eren víctimes dels abusos dels cristians, i eren obligats a viure en sectors aïllats de les poblacions, els calls, on disposaven dels serveis i òrgans necessaris per governar-se de forma autònoma i professar la seva religió. El treball es focalitza en el call de Tàrrega i els seus habitants, que van constituir una part imprescindible de la vila entre els segles XIII i XV, però tot i així patien vexacions i eren vilipendiats pel fet de ser jueus i, el 1348, els atacs van arribar al seu apogeu amb un avalot en què van morir centenars de persones.

[eng] During the Late Medieval Period, in Catalonia the Jews constituted a minority religious collective but with a very important weight in sectors like economic. In spite of their relevance, Jews were victims of abuse from Christians, and they were obligated to live in isolated sectors of towns, the Jewish quarters, where they had the necessary services and organs to govern themselves autonomously and exercise their religion. This work focuses on Tàrrega’s Jewish quarter and its inhabitants, who constituted an indispensable part of the village between XIIIth and XVth centuries, but even so they suffered vexations and were vilified for the fact of being Jews and, in 1348, the attacks attained their peak whit a riot in which died hundreds of people.
