L’aprofitament de recursos faunístics en entorns rurals: el cas d’Olèrdola. Un estudi arqueozoològic de la fauna recuperada a l’assentament d’Olèrdola (Olèrdola, Alt Penedès) durant l’alta i plena edat mitjana (IX-XII d.c)

Abstract

[cat] El present treball analitza les restes faunístiques procedents dels nivells medievals de l’ocupació d’Olèrdola (s. IX-XII d.C), tot prenent l’objectiu de caracteritzar l’alimentació i l’aprofitament de tot tipus d’origen animal dels habitants d’Olèrdola i definir com la dieta pot ser el resultat de l’existència d’estatus socials diferenciats, de la tipologia rural o urbana dels assentaments i del possible seguiment de diferents doctrines religioses. L’estudi ha seguit una metodologia composta per la ponderació del nombre de restes, l’anàlisi de la representació anatòmica, l’estudi de les traces d’origen antròpic i els patrons de gestió dels animals, entre d’altres. L’estudi del conjunt ha permès concloure que almenys una part dels habitants d’Olèrdola formaven part d’una elit benestant i que el conjunt poblacional seguia les doctrines cristianes. També s’ha pogut caracteritzar Olèrdola com a un assentament normatiu dins de les ocupacions cristianes de l’alta i plena edat mitjana, a excepció del tracte excepcional diferenciat que han rebut Canis familiaris i Equus caballus. Finalment, aquest estudi ha permès augmentar el coneixement referent a l’ocupació medieval d’Olèrdola i el corpus de treballs amb relació en l’alimentació d’origen animal a l’alta i plena edat mitjana.

[eng] The present work analyzes the faunal remains from the medieval levels of the occupation of Olèrdola (IX-XII centuries a.C), while taking the aim of characterizing the food and the use of all types of things form animal origin by the inhabitants of Olèrdola and define how the diet can be the result of the existence of different social statuses, of the rural or urban typology of the settlements and of the possible religious fellowship. The study has followed a methodology composed of the numeration of the number of remains, the analysis of the anatomical representation, the study of traces of anthropic origin and the management patterns of the animals, among others. The study of the whole has made it possible to conclude that at least part of the inhabitants of Olèrdola were part of a wealthy elite and the population, at a general level, followed Christian doctrines. It has also been possible to characterize Olèrdola as a normative settlement within the Christian occupations of the high and full Middle Ages, with the exception of the exceptional and differentiated treatment that Canis familiaris and Equus caballus have received. Finally, this study has made it possible to increase knowledge regarding the medieval occupation of Olèrdola and the corpus of works related to food of animal origin in the high and middle ages.
