Einstein-Bergson debate on special relativity

Abstract

This paper deals with the debate between Albert Einstein and Henri Bergson that revolved around their corresponding interpretations of the theory of relativity. We will analyze the origins and evolution of each one of the multiple debate’s positions as well as the persons and events that promoted and catalysed the debate. We will end our work with the study of the debate in itself. By this means, we are able to achieve the main goal of this work which is none other than understanding an historical debate that marked a turning point in the physical and philosophical fields in respect of the interpretations of the theory of relativity
