Deixar (de) fer

Abstract

[cat] Deixar (de) fer és una actitud, una manera de fer i d’estar al taller. És també una invitació al deteniment, a revalorar gestos que passen desapercebuts, que queden fora del que es considera digne d’atenció. El treball s’articula com un procés d’investigació sobre les possibilitats del no fer. És un intent de qüestionar la lògica productivista des del gest mínim: observar, recollir, repensar. Valorant l’absència i la preexistència de gravats davant de la saturació d’imatges i el ritme frenètic que caracteritzen el món contemporani. A través de l’experimentació amb diferents tipus de matrius, tècniques i materials, Deixar (de) fer fa visibles els rastres del treballar. El focus del projecte està posat en en tot allò que “es fa sol” mentre les mans llimen, entinten, perforen o netegen. En un procés on l’atzar, l’inconscient i el pas del temps actuen com a agents cocreadors de les obres presentades i em permeten, cada cop més, deixar de gravar.

[eng] Deixar (de) fer (Stop doing) is an attitude, a way of doing and being in the workshop. It is also an invitation to pause, to reconsider gestures that go unnoticed, that lie beyond what is considered worthy of attention. The work is articulated as a process of research into the possibilities of not doing. It is an attempt to question the logic of productivity with minimal gestures: observing, collecting, and rethinking. It values absence and the preexistence of prints in the face of the saturation of images and frenetic rhythm that characterise the contemporary world. By experimenting with different types of matrixes, techniques, and materials, Deixar (de) fer makes the traces of work visible. The project is focussed on everything that “just happens on its own” while hands file, ink up, perforate or clean. It is a process in which chance, the unconscious and the passage of time act as co-creating agents of the works presented, enabling me, more and more, to stop engraving.
