Anàlisi de l’impacte dels màsters universitaris sobre el desenvolupament de la carrera professional

Abstract

[cat] El present treball analitza la trajectòria acadèmica i la transició d’alumnes universitaris en acabar els estudis de màster, tot observant quines decisions es prenen un cop acaben els estudis, quins són els motius que justifiquen aquestes decisions, quines barreres troben per assolir aquests objectius, com ha estat l’orientació en cas que n’hi hagi hagut, i quina valoració fan d’aquest procés. S’ha fet un anàlisi de la transició de 9 estudiants d’universitats catalanes, que han cursat els estudis en els següents àmbits: Psicologia, Biologia, Pedagogia, Audiovisuals, Geografia, Nanociència, Educació Infantil, i Ciències Biomèdiques. A partir de l’anàlisi qualitatiu de les seves narratives biogràfiques, s’ha trobat una diversitat de motivacions i expectatives, que deriven també en experiències i valoracions molt diferents sobre la vivència del màster. En general, s’ha trobat una tendència a la manca d’orientació reconeguda a l’hora d’escollir la vessant professional, i una necessitat no resolta d’orientació -aquesta més inconscient- al llarg de la trajectòria universitària i a la transició cap al món laboral. Es reflexiona entorn la importància de l’orientació per a potenciar les competències de gestió de la carrera i la transició pre i post màster. Tanmateix, el màster es configura com un element clau en la trajectòria dels estudiants universitaris, per la conformació de la seva identitat laboral i en la transició cap al món laboral. Es torna doncs, un element imprescindible i de gran valor situat entre el grau universitari i el món laboral.

[eng] The present work analyzes the academic trajectory and the transition of university students at the end of master's studies, observing what decisions are made once they finish their studies, which are the reasons that justify these decisions, what barriers they did find to achieve their goals, what has been the orientation in case there has been, and what assessment do they make of this process. This analysis has been made from the transition of 9 students from catalan universities, who have studied in the following areas:Psychology, Biology, Pedagogy, Audiovisuals, Geography, Nanoscience, Early Childhood Education, and Biomedical Sciences. Based on the qualitative analysis of their biographical narratives, a diversity of motivations and expectations has been found, which also lead to very different experiences and evaluations of the master's degrees experience. In general, there has been a tendency towards a lack of recognized guidance when choosing a career, and an unresolved need for guidance -this being more unconscious- throughout the university career and in the transition to in the world of work. The importance of guidance to enhance career management skills and the pre- and post-master's transition is debated. However, the master's degree is configured as a key element in the trajectory of university students, for the formation of their work identity and in the transition to the labor market. It therefore becomes an essential and highly valuable element placed between the university’s degree and the labor market.
