[eng] #Kursed: Non-Fungible Digital Art takes as its starting point the economic and social furor over the phenomenology of Non-Fungible Tokens [NFTs]. It has consisted of generating and coining as NFT a collection of three hundred and forty-four appropriate images, subsequently modified through code generation. As an exercise in questioning the sales system itself, they have been assigned an absurdly exorbitant sales value. As a dissemination strategy, a series of false articles have been produced in which a million-dollar sale is guaranteed, in addition to simulating and uploading a tutorial on the production of NFTs to YouTube. It is important to note that the research work is a practical and theoretical study to the same extent, since it has required an important survey of technical documentation and theoretical contextualization. Through an exhaustive analysis of the unprecedented blockchain technology, this research explores how it can lead to the resolution of one of the most pressing paradigms of the traditional art market: the scarcity of the digital medium. On the one hand, the development of the Internet and its own communities and aesthetics generated on the World Wide Web has been traced, more specifically the #CursedImages, a type of abject image spread by communities of the web ecosystem; the basis of the artistic project are precisely these #CursedImages. On the other hand, the origin of blockchain technology and NFTs has been examined, studying which have been the most outstanding collections for their originality with the medium and for their market capitalization, in addition to studying how they develop their sales strategies. |
