Abstract

[cat] En aquest projecte creo una escultura antropomòrfica de metall que aspira a emular les articulacions humanes a base de mecanismes ideats per mi. Es tracta d'una escultura de 2'1 metres d'altura. És modular i cinètica. Complexa, tot i que rudimentària. El focus del projecte es troba en el procés de descobrir com resoldre els moviments de les articulacions pel meu compte. La peça és un puzle, en tots els sentits de la paraula, és un divertiment, un joc, una sèrie de peces que s'ajunten i creen una imatge més complexa, cada peça amb la seva funció específica. També es tracta d'un autoretrat tant conceptual com físic, És una representació dels meus processos de pensament. On exploro la meva pròpia identitat artística. El caràcter modular de l'escultura permet una reinterpretació constant de la seva forma i funció. Ofereix moltes lectures diferents. Paral·lelament, els mecanismes de metall sent la base d'una escultura antropomòrfica articulada també inciten a reflexions sobre la relació entre la mecànica, la tecnologia, la humanitat, i la naturalesa, i com aquests conceptes s'influencien i interactuen entre ells la nostra societat.

[eng] In this project I create an anthropomorphic metal sculpture that aspires to emulate human joints based on mechanisms devised by myself. It is a sculpture of 2.1 meters in height. It is modular and kinetic. Complex, yet rudimentary. The focus of the project is on the process of discovering how to solve the movements of the joints on my own. The piece is a puzzle, in every sense of the word, it is entertainment, a game, a series of pieces that come together and create a more complex image, each piece with its specific function. It is also a self-portrait in both conceptual and physical means, a representation of my thought processes. Where I explore my own artistic identity. The modular nature of the sculpture allows for a constant reinterpretation of its form and function. It offers many different readings. At the same time, the metal mechanisms being the basis of an articulated anthropomorphic sculpture also prompt reflections on the relationship between mechanics, technology, humanity, and nature, and how these concepts influence and interact with each other the our society.
