The aim of this Final Degree Project is to study two models for the inner-shell ionization cross sections by light-ion impact. One is the plane-wave Born approximation (PWBA). The other is the eCPSShsR model, which improves the PWBA including the Coulomb, binding and wave function corrections. Numerical calculations have been done for Al, Cu, and Ag atoms, and H+ and He2+ ions with energies from 0.05 MeV to 20 MeV. The comparison of the theoretical predictions with experimental data shows that the eCPSShsR approximation is quite accurate and that, for large projectile energies, the PWBA and eCPSShsR models are nearly identicalca
