Abstract: Orthophragminids are Paleocene-Eocene bilamellarperforate larger foraminifers characterized by a lenticular test with an equatorial layer of rectangular chamberlets arranged in concentric rings and lateral chamberlets on either side. Usually called 'discocyclinids', orthophragrninids include genera from two families: Discocyclinidae and Orbitoclypeidae.
