We analyze long-term care needs associated with disability attributable to road traffic accidents in Spain and conclude they entail a significant burden for families and society, given the support these victims need is lifelong. Furthermore, the high socio-economic costs of road traffic accidents (in Spain 0.08% of the GDP in 2020) in addition to the victims’ lifetime economic losses (over €100,000 per victim (ages 18-40)) clearly indicate the need for governments and policymakers to strengthen road accident preventive measures.60 p.application/pdfengcc-by-nc-nd (c) Rey Gámez, 2024http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/es/Accidents de trànsitMatemàtica actuarialTreball social amb les persones amb discapacitatTreballs de fi de màsterTraffic accidentsActuarial mathematicsSocial work with people with disabilitiesMaster's thesisThe cost of severe dependence attributable to RTIs in Spain according to edad 2020 A macro and actuarial perspectiveinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess
