Its objective is make easier for the archeologists do their stratigraphy works directly on the field, so that they can do that task there with mobile devices in a distributed way with the interactivity well-known on these device applications, is that to say a "look and feel" environment able to do that task in an intuitive way with high visibility of the work done and feedback.
