L’estudi en profunditat del culte als misteris de Mitra, una d’aquestes religions mistèriques, ens permet aproximar-nos als orígens, significat i composició social del mateix, establint d’aquesta manera un patró comú de les comunitats mitraiques a l’Occident romà[eng] Traditionally, the knowledge about the influence of mystery religions in the daily life of inhabitants from Republican and Imperial Rome has been treated from a relativist focus which has limited the importance of those beliefs to an anecdotic role within social homogenous communities.
