We estimated generalized linear mixed models for three waves of the Eurosystem Household Finance and Consumption Survey (2011, 2015, 2017), adjusting for family and individual heterogeneity and for temporal trends. Results show that variations in income have a positive and significant impact on changes in self-perceived health during the financial crisis, but not after 2015. In conclusion, we find that income, rather than wealth, played an important role in protecting health.30 p.application/pdfeng(c) Instituto de Estudios Fiscales, 2024Distribució de la rendaCrisis financeresRiquesaIncome distributionFinancial crisesWealthAssociation of income and wealth with self-reported health status: Analysis of European countries during the financial crisisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/article7492622025-06-26info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess
