It covers 8 hectares and is fl anked by two wadis: wadi Abou Qal Qal and wadi al-Fars. Systematic excavations were begun in 1991 under the direction of Dr. Miquel Molist, Professor of Prehistory at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain.
