Methodology: A content analysis has been carried out by analyzing the requirements of the SA8000 standard through six reports of companies from Italy, India and China, countries that lead the ranking of companies that have certified SA8000. Results: Findings show that there is a considerable difference as a result of the implementation of the standard, based on the information provided by each company in their annual reports. Contribution: This research contributes to enrich literature since the existing research focuses more on specific regions and not on comparing them.
