D’aquesta manera, aportaré noves dades per reflexionar sobre com es concebia un centre monàstic en aquell període, quina era la seva topografia interna i a quin ideal monàstic responien[eng] Considering the scant archaeological knowledge we have about the monasteries of the Catalan counties in the Carolingian era, the early medieval charters, despite their laconicism, constitute a basic source to approach their material reality. Starting from this premise, in this paper, I will analyse all the references to the structure of these monasteries and their materiality that appear in the written sources of the 9th and 10th centuries.
