El present estudi analitza la política expansiva desplegada per la institució en les principals poblacions del Principat a partir d'un determinat model constructiu, posant especial atenció en el que desenvolupà el fuster major Francesc Soldevila a les seus de Girona, Lleida, Tarragona i Tortosa.[eng] In the last quarter of the 16th century the "Diputació del General" implemented an homogenous design for the buildings that symbolically represented the official institution throughout Catalonia. While serving the residential and fiscal functions they were to perform, these buildings had to consolidate an unambiguous image of economic and administrative power.
