Abstract: The main idea of this project is to add value to solar self-consumption assets thanks to the counting of carbon dioxide emissions due to utility tokens based on blockchain technology. The end is that prosumers can get benefits not only from the savings in their electricity bills but also from the ownership of the emissions that their roofs are saving because of the generation of renewable energy to achieve their consumption. A brief view on the solar self-consumption technology in Spain is presented, as well as the basics of blockchain technology and smart contracts. Then, a calculation for the number of tokens that an installation can generate is obtained. Finally, a proposal for the creation of an app that gives value to these tokens is given, proving future benefits and challenges for users. The end of this work is to explore how blockchain technology can improve the number of solar installations made giving extra value to the generation of renewable energy despite proven benefits of self-consumption technology with the objective of increase the installed capacity and break records of houses with this form of energy generation
