Abstract: This final project represents the end of my studies in Mathematics and the beginning of my professional career which I would like to focus on teaching. The title of the project is “Altes capacitats matemàtiques a l’aula de secundària” (High mathematic skills at the Secondary School). Its general objective is the creation of a proposal for action to enhance the mathematical talent of students with high mathematical skills. This general objective can be divided into four other objectives which are more specific: - To know all those laws related to the educational diversity of the students, especially according to high mathematical skills. - To learn about programs and activities that currently exist to enhance the mathematical talent in Catalonia, Spain and other countries like France, Russia and the United States. - To have a real view of the different situations found in a classroom, programs and activities listed above. - To develop a proposal to give support to teachers with all the necessary material and resources that could be used in a classroom with students with high mathematical skills. First, I wanted to know how it raises attention to diversity in respect of law, and how exactly are defined “high skills”. Second, I have made a comparative search of programs and activities that promote mathematical talent in Catalonia, Spain and other countries like France, Russia and the United States. Third, I prepared some questionnaires which were addressed to people involved in the mathematical teaching in high schools. These questionnaires let me understand the real situation from the current practice with students with high mathematical skills. Finally, I have developed a proposal for action to be applied in class and to enhance the mathematical talent of students with high mathematical skills. I firmly consider that this project will be useful when dealing with high mathematical skills in Secondary Schools’ classrooms.
