In this project we studied the behaviour of calculation algorithms used for planning radiotherapy treatments in heterogeneous media. The work consisted in measuring the absolute absorbed dose with an ionization chamber inside media equivalent to lung and bone for 6 and 15 MV photon beams. The measurements were compared to Monte Carlo simulations done with the PENELOPE/penEasy code and to the calculations of the AAA and Acuros algorithmsca
