We present a simulation of a transmon qubit, one of the most used charge qubits in quantum computing. The relevance of such a device comes from its low noise sensitivity compared to other superconducting qubits. The aim of the simulation is to describe the energy spectrum and explain the behaviour of the noise sensitivity. This work is framed in a bigger simulator and it consists of the first step of the full transmon simulator: a backend simulator with the capability to control a general superconducting chip architecture with external microwave pulsesca
