Abstract: This chapter addresses the sensorial influence on the making of place during Correfocs (fire events in Catalan Popular culture). It explores the multisensory relationships that articulate during Correfocs, attending to the sensuous dance produced by fire and drums in the urban space. The chapter explores the interaction this temporary sensory intensity has on the making of place for the devils (burners) and tabalers (drummers). It focuses on the place’s ephemeral dimensions arising during Correfocs. It examines the impact those may have in the portrayal of a space in the participants’ imaginary and their temporality. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this chapter presents data and its analysis to date: the research is ongoing.
