Abstract: General Relativity (GR) predicts that black holes have singularities in their interiors. How they get resolved is a fundamental problem in theoretical physics. Regular black holes (RBHs) are a class of spacetimes that achieve this by replacing the singularities in their interiors with regular cores. In this work, we first present the general properties of RBHs and explain why they are difficult to obtain as solutions to actual physical theories. Then, we review a recently proposed mechanism for obtaining RBHs as solutions to GR coupled to infinite towers of higher-curvature corrections in D ≥ 5 spacetime dimensions. As a new result in the literature, we construct a regular black hole with four horizons in D = 8 for one of these theories. This represents the first example of this class with more than two horizons.
